Losing a pet due to a house fire can be a devastating experience. As most pet owners leave their furry companions home alone when they go to work, pets are left to fend for themselves in the event of a house fire. While affixing 'rescue alert stickers' to your home can be helpful to first responders, saving the pet's life is not assured. Unlike humans who instinctively run out during fires, pets instinctively look for a hiding place to protect them from the fire.

While firemen attempt to get pets safely out of burning structures, they are not able to revive them unless they have the proper equipment — pet oxygen masks. These specially-designed animal masks can be used both on conscious pets that have suffered from smoke inhalation and pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness from exposure to the dangerous toxic fumes.

Wag'N Pet Oxygen Mask Kits come with 3 different size masks that can be used on dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and more. These durable polycarbonate masks feature dual vents and a rubber mounted 22mm oxygen adapter enabling unrestricted inhalation and exhalation of air. NEW! Animal Incident Report (AIR) Forms & Pet Rescue Notice Forms Included With Every Kit!

Pet owners may not always be on scene when the rescue is made, may be overwhelmed or themselves be injured. Many scenarios will require the rescued pets and owners to be separated after the initial rescue. In most cases, following the initial application of oxygen, the animal will need transport to a veterinarian (just like humans generally take a ride to the hospital after being rescued from a fire).

The 3-part AIR Form lets responding units record animal rescue information such as: number of extricated animals, on scene procedures, estimated time to exposure, name and address of facility animal being taken to and more. The receiving veterinarian will then have valuable documented information of the on-scene treatment to better follow-up on animal care. In addition, the pet owners will have written documentation of what happened to their animals and where they have been taken to.

The Pet Rescue Notice Form is a more simplified version that can be left by first responders on the scene following an animal rescue from a gas leak alarm, Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm and in some cases fire alarms when the owner is not present. Its purpose is help reunite pets and owners following the rescue.

The Pet Rescue Notice form will be provided as a pdf link that is delivered in via email receipt upon completion of the purchase.

These forms were developed to compliment the Wag'N O2 Fur Life Kit contents. Their use is optional and may be completed at the sole discretion of each department.
